Your general practitioner is primarily responsible for all emergency consultations. He knows your history precisely and decides whether further diagnosis or treatment at the hospital is needed. Together with you the patient he also decides when this should take place. If you cannot reach your physician, the emergency unit is available to you. This occurs independent of your insurance status.
